Argon

  • Use: In TIG welding of all metals, MIG welding of aluminium and copper, plasma cutting and welding. Shielding gas in welding and metal production.
  • Features: A colorless, odorless, tasteless and inert gas that is heavier than air. Asphyxiant in high concentrations.
  • Grades: argon, ultrapure argon N50 and N60

Acetylene

  • Use: in cutting, welding, soldering, flame cleaning and flame hardening.
  • Features: A colourless, highly flammable gas, slightly lighter than air. Asphyxiant in high concentrations.
  • Grades: acetylene, ultrapure acetylene N26

Nitrous Oxide

(laughing gas)

  • Use: As a laboratory gas, in the manufacture of optical cables, car racing.
  • Features: A colourless, heavier than air, mildly narcotic gas, accelerates combustion. Asphyxiant in high concentrations.

Oxygen

  • Use: In cutting, welding, soldering, flame cleaning, flame hardening, combustion processes.
  • Features: A colourless, odourless and tasteless gas. Accelerates combustion, oxidising.
  • Grades: Oxygen, ultrapure oxygen N50

Odorised Oxygen

  • Use: In cutting, welding, soldering, flame cleaning, flame hardening, combustion processes, testing and calibration, as a laboratory gas.
  • Features: Odourless, with an added odorant. Accelerates combustion, oxidising.

Helium

  • Use: in TIG welding of aluminium, copper and its alloys, and titanium, laser cutting, as a laboratory gas and a balloon gas. Shielding gas.
  • Features: A colourless, odourless, tasteless gas, lighter than air. Asphyxiant in high concentrations.
  • Grades: helium, ultrapure helium N46, N55, N60

Carbon Dioxide

  • Use: In Mag welding of non-alloyed and low-alloy steels. Shielding gas.
  • Features: A colourless gas, heavier than air. Asphyxiant in high concentrations.
  • Grades: carbon dioxide, ultrapure carbon dioxide N45
  • SFS-EN ISO 14175-C1

Propane

  • Use: In testing, laboratory applications, calibration. In heating of boats and caravans.
  • Features: Colourless, heavier than air, often with an added odorant, combustible, asphyxiant in high concentrations.

Compressed air

  • Use: In pneumatic control devices and tools that require dry, oil-free air.

Nitrogen

  • Use: As a shielding gas in oxygen-free industrial processes, as a root shielding gas for high-alloy austenitic steels, in inerting, homogenisation of metallic melts, pressure vessels and tools. Shielding gas.
  • Features: A colourless, odourless and tasteless gas. Asphyxiant in high concentrations, inert.
  • Grades: Nitrogen, ultrapure nitrogen N50, N60
    SFS-EN ISO 14175-N1.

Hydrogen

  • Use: In cooling in power plants, glass cutting, plasma cutting, laboratory applications, hydrogenation of fats, hardening.
  • Features: A considerably lighter than air, colourless, odourless, tasteless and highly flammable gas. Asphyxiant in high concentrations.
  • Grades: Hydrogen, ultrapure hydrogen N50
